68 Hour Med Tech

The 68hr Medication Administration Course is a Virginia Board of Nursing approved program. The course instructs participants how to administer & assist resident in self-administering medications, including blood sugar checks & insulin injections, in the assisted living environment.

68 Hour Med Tech

There are 68 hours of training, consisting of 48 hours of classroom training and 24 hours of clinical training in various assisted living facilities, to assist in Medication Management and Administration in assisted living facilities.

The cost includes the e-textbook and all classroom materials.

Certificate will be provided within 14 Business Days (count ONLY Monday through Friday non-holidays) ONLY upon successful completion of the course.

Not Included: - Students will be eligible to apply to Virginia Board of Nursing ($50) and the examination at PSI ($70) to become a Registered Medication Aide (RMA).

DAY 1: On the first day of class you can expect to receive scrubs, course book, take picture for your ID Badge, receive training on TopHat platform and receive information for applying for your exam with VA Board of Nursing.

Students will receive course documentation and medication aide text book e-book (physical copy available to rent or $15) to assist for studying for the state board exam. Rented text book must be returned at the end of the course. If text book is not returned students will not receive certification and task records to sit for state board exam.

***If needed tutorial will be conducted to ensure understanding of how to navigate google class room to complete assignments.***


Prerequisites:

A certificate of completion from one of the following

Virginia Department of Social Services approved 40hr Direct Patient Care certificate
Virginia Medicaid approved 40hr Personal Care Assistant certificate
Virginia Board of Nursing approved 120hr Nurse Aide certificate

Additional Requirements:

Current PPD (TB) Test or Chest X-Ray ($25 to $45)
Current Criminal Background Check from the Virginia State Police or we can conduct background check onsite ($20).
